Adrianna Carter

Adrianna Carter is driven by a passion for creating and supporting safe spaces and systemic change. In addition to facilitating community groups at the Circle Center, Adrianna most recently served as Program Coordinator of the Mayor’s Youth Council and WeGo Public Transit Youth Action Team at the Oasis Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Adrianna’s undergraduate degree is in Communication Studies and Civic Engagement & Social Entrepreneurship and earned her Masters from the University of Tennessee. In her past roles, Adrianna has served as a leader and co-chair of Antiracism & Cultural Connection employee resource groups as well as a supporting creation of organization-wide Racial Equity Strategic Plans.

In the community, Adrianna is a 2022 Mosaic Fellow, she serves as Vice-Chair and Scholarship Committee Chair of the Coalition of Black Social Workers and Co-chair of the Youth Planning Committee for the MLK Day Nashville Celebration. In the summer of 2021, Adrianna was awarded funding from the University of Tennessee Office Division of Diversity & Engagement to serve as co-investigator on a project that assessed the impact of race-based trauma and COVID on the mental health of black social workers. When not in community, Adrianna loves reading Black romance novels by Jasmine Guillory, is a new plant mom of 3: a baby cactus, a corn plant, and a snake plant. She has also recently taken up photography and always has a song in her heart.
